Yuri Alberto: age, Corinthians contract and goals

Yuri Alberto shared the 2024 Brasileirão top-scorer award with Alerrandro of Vitória, each on 15 goals [5] [6]. Both received the new Troféu Roberto Dinamite at the CBF headquarters in Rio de Janeiro [5].

From Santos youth to Corinthians

Yuri Alberto Monteiro da Silva was born on 18 March 2001 in São José dos Campos, in the interior of São Paulo state [1]. He began his career in the youth categories of Santos [1]. He signed for Sport Club Internacional in 2020 and scored 31 goals in 85 matches for them [1]. Corinthians signed him in 2022 [1].

Part of his economic rights belongs to a Russian club [3]. According to Exame, Corinthians holds 50% of them and Zenit of Russia holds the other half [3]. The club reportedly set a minimum of €20 million for its share [3].

A contract to 2030 and a release clause

Corinthians made the renewal official on 24 July 2025 [2]. The previous deal ran to the end of 2027, and the new one runs to July 2030 [2]. In its statement the club said the talks were led by president Osmar Stabile and football executive Fabinho Soldado [9].

The release clause stayed the same in the renewal, at R$ 500 million for a Brazilian club and €100 million for a club abroad [2]. Terra reported that after the Copa do Brasil title, on the pitch at the Maracanã following a win over Vasco, he said "Até 2030 eu estou aí", or "I'm here until 2030" [4].

A May 2026 interview about leaving

In a TV Globo interview reported by Lance on 14 May 2026, he said five seasons had passed and that he had already talked through his situation with his staff: "Já foram cinco temporadas, eu já estou numa fase que eu conversei com meu staff" [11]. He said the club had almost two months, until the end of the Copa do Brasil, to settle the matter [11]. His agent, André Cury, had been asked to look for a different challenge that year [11].

Exame reported on 15 May 2026 that any exit would be discussed only if an attractive offer came [3]. The article ties this to an agreement with the club's leadership when he renewed [3]. The club doctor had earlier described one of his injuries as a fracture of the L1 vertebra [2].

Goals and a disputed tally

In November 2025 Lance reported that he had now scored against every team in the current Série A, completing the list with Mirassol [12]. The same article put his Corinthians total at 73 goals and 19 assists in 200 matches, but a photo caption in it gave 78 goals [12].

Back on the scoresheet in October

On 19 October 2026 he scored a penalty in Corinthians' 1-1 draw with Vitória at the Neo Química Arena [7]. The referee first judged the incident a dive, but he changed the decision after a VAR review [7]. Renê had put Vitória ahead at 45 minutes of the first half, so the penalty was the equaliser [7].

Relegation fight

Corinthians had 33 points on 26 October 2026 [8]. That day Grêmio beat Coritiba 1-0, with Braithwaite scoring in the 47th minute of the second half [8]. Grêmio rose to 34 points and 17th place, above Corinthians in the relegation zone [8]. So the Grêmio result that pushed Corinthians down was a win at Coritiba, not a match against Corinthians [8].
