Charlyn Corral

The award in London

Charlyn Corral won the women's striker prize at the Ballon d'Or ceremony in London, held on Monday 26 October 2026 [2] [3]. Coverage names the prize in two ways. beIN SPORTS and OneFootball call it the Women's Gerd Müller Trophy, given to the top scorer of the year [2] [3]. Concacaf calls the same honour the 2026 Women's Striker of the Year, and says France Football honoured her with it [1].

Yahoo Sports reports that she received the top goalscorer prize alongside Harry Kane [7]. Concacaf gives her age as 35 and describes her as a key member of the Mexico Women's National Team [1].

The firsts, and where the sources differ

Several outlets say she was the first Mexican player to win an award at the Ballon d'Or [2] [1] [8]. Concacaf adds that she was the first Mexican player honoured at the event in both the men's and women's categories [1]. Yahoo Sports describes her as the first Mexican female footballer to receive an award at the gala [7].

The sources do not agree on the women's record. OneFootball says she became the second female player to receive the award, after Ewa Pajor was named the first winner of the women's award introduced in 2025 [3]. Hooligan Soccer calls her the inaugural winner of the women's category, which makes its debut in 2026 [8]. This page does not choose between them.

Goal totals that do not agree

Concacaf gives 43 goals and 11 assists in 46 matches in what it calls the regular year, without naming a season [1]. OneFootball gives the same figures for the 2025-26 season [3]. Yahoo Sports and Hooligan Soccer give 49 goals in 49 matches, with no season named [7] [8]. Hooligan Soccer also gives 53 goals for club and country, with no season or year named [8].

beIN SPORTS uses a different period. It gives 57 goals in the 2025 calendar year, 50 for Pachuca and seven for Mexico [2]. The season and the calendar year do not match, so the figures are not one total, and this page reports each one as its source gives it.

OneFootball also breaks down her recent tournaments: 20 goals in 21 matches in the previous Liga MX Femenil tournament, and 24 goals in 17 appearances in the current one [3].

Pachuca and the club record

Pachuca Femenil is her club [3]. Concacaf calls her the all-time leading scorer in the club's history, with 172 goals in 190 appearances [5]. Its profile says she guided Pachuca to its first league title, the Clausura 2025 [5]. Fox Sports Mexico describes her as a five-time Liga MX Femenil Golden Boot winner [6].

Concacaf's awards page lists her as a nominee for the 2024/25 Women's Player of the Year, with the position forward and the club and country given as Mexico, Pachuca [9].

Before Pachuca

Concacaf's profile says she built her career in Finland and Spain before joining Pachuca [5]. In the 2017/18 season at Levante she scored 24 goals and became the first non-Spanish player to win the Liga F top scorer award [5].

Mexico

Concacaf's profile says she scored 13 goals for Mexico in the 2025/26 Concacaf W Qualifiers [5]. beIN SPORTS counts seven goals for Mexico in the 2025 calendar year [2].

Her view on the nominations

In comments reported by Fox Sports Mexico on 9 October 2026, Corral said she had never been nominated for the Ballon d'Or, but that she believed she could have been on another occasion [6]. Asked about Scarlett Camberos's nomination, she called it something very positive [6]. The quotes here are translated from Spanish.
