Levante Badalona and Barça Femení meet on Sunday 1 November in matchday 9 of the Liga F. Three things are driving the searches: the kick-off time, the venue and the name. LaLiga's match page lists the club as FC Badalona Women [2], and so does the Liga F results page [3], but the press still uses Levante Badalona [4]. It is the same club. Levante UD, the Valencia side, does not appear in the Liga F table for matchday 8 [3], so this is not a Levante UD fixture.

Date, kick-off and venue

The match is on Sunday 1 November at the Nou Municipal de Palamós on the Costa Brava, not in Badalona [2] [1]. The fixture was first expected in Badalona, but the venue was not secured, so it moved to Palamós [1]. Most previews give 12:30 as the start, which is Spanish peninsular time [1] [5] [4]. LaLiga's match page shows 11:30 [2]. Check the official listing before the game, because the published times differ.

In Spain the broadcasters are DAZN, Teledeporte, 3CAT, RTVE Play and TV3, and the referee is Arantza Gallastegui [4]. No UK broadcaster is named in the match coverage, so British viewers should check their own listings.

Las Futbolistas calls it a Catalan derby [5].

Barcelona top with one defeat

Barcelona are first with 21 points [4] [5], and their own preview says the aim is to stay at the top of the table [1]. A Liga F table page, labelled "Clasificación Jornada 1", shows 24 points after nine matches [3]. The two figures do not agree, and the page does not give a cut-off date, so this piece uses the 21 from the previews.

On 24 October Barça beat Granada 3-0 in matchday 8 [3]. VAVEL says their only defeat of the season was a 2-1 loss at Real Sociedad in Zubieta [4]. In the Women's Champions League they beat HB Køge 8-0 [5].

Romeu named 21 players. Kika Nazareth is out with a muscle injury to her right thigh, with an estimated four to five weeks of recovery [1]. Irene Paredes, Laia Aleixandri and Vicky López are also listed as absent [5].

Badalona looking for a first win since matchday 3

Badalona are 14th with 8 points, according to Barça's preview [1] and the Liga F table [3]. They have not won since matchday 3 and lost their last two games [1]. Las Futbolistas counts five matches without a win, with two draws and three defeats [5].

On 24 October they lost 1-0 at Logroño [3]. VAVEL's preview, which gives no dates, lists a 0-0 draw with Real Sociedad, a 0-1 defeat to Granada, a 3-3 draw with Sevilla and a 0-4 defeat to Tenerife [4]. Las Futbolistas lists Antonia Canales, Berta Pujadas, Izarne Sarasola, Vicky Losada and Lauri Requena as unavailable [5]. Their coach is Marc Ballester [4], and Barça's preview says they need a win to move away from the drop zone [1].

Romeu was direct about the opposition: "Badalona should have more points than they have, given the quality of their players" [1].

The wider table after matchday 8

Matchday 8 gave these Liga F results: Atlético de Madrid 4-0 VCF Femenino, Real Madrid 3-2 Costa Adeje Tenerife, Athletic Club 0-0 Sevilla, Real Sociedad 1-1 Espanyol, Deportivo Abanca 2-1 Deportivo Alavés and SD Eibar 2-2 Madrid CFF [3]. Logroño beat Badalona and Barcelona beat Granada on the same weekend, so the two sides arrive with opposite recent results [3].

Recent meetings

Last season the two clubs met four times. Barcelona won three and the other was a 0-0 draw in the first leg of the Copa de la Reina semi-final [5]. The previews do not give dates or scores for those matches, so this piece does not add more detail.

What to watch

Three things will matter more than the scoreline. The first is whether Barcelona keep top spot with the squad they have. The second is whether Badalona can end a run that stretches back to matchday 3. The third is the kick-off time, which needs confirming on the official Liga F or LaLiga pages before the match because the published times do not match.

This article does not include a result. Line-ups and the final score should be checked on LaLiga's match page or the club's own site once they are published.
